WESTERN CHORUS FROG
Pseudacris triseriata triseriata
Occurs statewide, except the Bootheel where it is replaced by the Illinois chorus frog
(Pseudacris streckeri illioenis).
These are smooth skinned frogs that may be olive-green, brown or greenish-grey. Typically has three dark stripes that run the Entire dorsal length. Stripes may be broken or absent entirely.
Length: 1 ½ inches with males smaller than females
Also referred to as the Midland Chorus frog, Striped Chorus frog and Boreal Chorus frog.
